Travel Protection

Travel and Medical Insurance

Travel & Medical Insurance is mandatory on our trips. We recommend investing in the most comprehensive travel and medical package available. As this is an active holiday, it only takes a minor injury or illness to disrupt your trip. Purchase insurance once your deposit is paid, the trip is confirmed and your flights are booked.

Review Your Policy

Tip 1

Mountain Biking Activity

Confirm that Mountain Biking activity is covered with your policy.

Tip 2

Emergency Air Evacuation

Confirm that the policy includes Emergency air evacuation in case you’re injured in a remote region and require helicopter evacuation. This is very important on our mountain bike trips.

Tip 3

Medical and Travel Changes

Confirm that your medical bills will be reimbursed as well as costs incurred for travel changes in the event of early return home.

Tip 4

Land and Flight Costs

Confirm that your land and flight costs will be reimbursed in the event of the unexpected injury, illness or personal emergency before you depart.

Tip 5

Lost or Damaged Items

Confirm that the policy covers lost or damaged baggage & personal effects, including bikes if possible.

Tip 6

Delay Coverage

Confirm that the policy covers baggage delay reimbursement and/or delay in your trip to recover expenses if the trip is interrupted/delayed or you miss a flight connection.

Tip 7

Upfront Payment

Confirm if the policy pays medical expenses upfront or if they reimburse after returning home/submitting a claim. “Reimbursement type plans” might mean you can’t leave the facility or country until the bill is paid.

Tip 8

Pre-Existing Conditions

Confirm that the policy covers pre-existing conditions, as required.

Safety + Risk Awareness

Mountain biking is a dangerous activity that involves inherent risks. Injuries are a common and expected part of mountain biking. As many of our trips take place in remote regions and riders will be on unfamiliar terrain and trails, the risks, dangers and hazards are increased. It is imperative that that riders on our trips ride responsibly and more conservatively than they would on their home trails. Riders on our trips are responsible for their own safety while riding.

Always ride in control and within your ability level. Always walk sections if needed.

Do not ride if your ability or judgement is impaired by drugs, alcohol or fatigue.

Helmets are mandatory whenever you are on your bike. Gloves, knee pads, eye protection and other protective equipment are strongly recommended on all our trips.

Riders must ensure that their mountain bike or rental mountain bike or rental e-bike and equipment is in safe working condition. Always inspect your bike or rental bike in advance of every ride.

All riders must read and agree to our Release Agreement Waiver prior to participating on our trips.
