Trip Details

Join us on the ultimate Tuscany e-mountain biking adventure. Our journey begins in the iconic city of Florence, the capital of Tuscany, then heads south to the renowned Chianti Classico region, the magnificent city of Siena, and the picturesque hilltop town of Montalcino. Riding in this region is primarily cross-country style on easier singletrack and double-track, with each ride framed by quintessential landscapes. Explore the rich artistic heritage of Siena via a guided walking tour, where centuries-old masterpieces and vibrant culture await at every turn. We’ll delight in a wine tasting of prestigious Brunello’s in historic Montalcino and enjoy an afternoon wine and cheese tasting at a renowned enoteca as we savour a culinary journey of world-class Tuscan cuisine. When you’ve spent enough time in the saddle, enjoy relaxing poolside at our postcard-worthy hotel, Aperol Spritz in hand. The second half of this adventure brings us to Massa Marittima and the Mediterranean coast for seafood, swimming in crystal-clear waters and singletrack riding with a mix of fast, flowy, and technical descents and enough climbing to keep you honest. This trip promises a perfect blend of fun riding, culture, cuisine and relaxation, making it the ideal riding holiday for intermediate-level riders (and above) and expert-level foodies.

Trip Itinerary

Embark on the ultimate Tuscany e-mountain biking adventure.

Day 1

Arrive to Florence. Ride Pratomagno Mountains. Transfer to Siena.

Our adventure begins with a mid-morning greeting by your guide at the Florence airport or your hotel in Florence. We'll then embark on a one-hour transfer to the Pratomagno mountains, offering stunning views high above the Arno River, for a warm-up ride. After enjoying a local lunch, we continue our journey with a transfer to Siena, checking into a hotel conveniently located within walking distance of the city center.

Day 2

Ride Chianti Classico region. Explore Siena & guided walking tour.

Today, we will ride through the renowned Chianti region, navigating a landscape of villages and oak forests, surrounded by vineyards stretching in every direction. After a leisurely lunch in a quintessential hilltop village, we'll return to the stunning city of Siena for an afternoon of exploration, including a one-hour guided walking tour to discover its rich history and architecture.

Day 3

Ride to hilltop Montalcino. Afternoon Brunello wine tasting.

Today, we will ride through one of Tuscany’s most picturesque regions, south of Siena, characterized by its gently rolling hills with a distinctive grey hue, famous for white truffle production. This afternoon, we will visit the Col di Lamo winery in the hilltop town of Montalcino, world-renowned for its production of the Brunello grape.

Day 4

Transfer to Massa Marittima. Ride Gavoranno.

This morning, we will bid farewell to the Siena region and transfer an hour to the renowned riding region of Massa Marittima, considered the premier mountain biking destination in Tuscany. Today's ride will showcase the quintessential Tuscan landscape, offering stunning views of Monte Amiata, Volterra, and the hills of Siena, alongside iconic rows of cypress trees, vineyards, olive groves, and gently rolling fields and forests.

Day 5

Ride Capanne.

Begin with a leisurely pedal through scenic vineyards, followed by a gentle climb through a grove of cork trees leading to the Capanne trail network. This bike park-style array of trails is characterized by quick ascents and descents, as well as loose, rocky sections that provide an engaging challenge. Among these, we will tackle the “Canyon Trail,” a woohoo out loud inducing trail comprised of berms and fun, swooping turns. There is an option to extend your ride if you are feeling up to it.

Day 6

Transfer to the Mediterranean. Ride Tirli & Castiglione Della Pescaia.

This morning, we will transfer to the Mediterranean coast, arriving in the picturesque town of Castiglione della Pescaia, known for its medieval fortress and expansive sea views. Today's ride will take us on a variety of singletrack loops, offering stunning vistas of the coastline. There is an option to extend your ride if you are craving some extra kms. In the evening, we will unwind and take in the sunset on the beach, relaxing at our seaside hotel.

Day 7

Ride Tirli & Castiglione Della Pescaia.

On our final day of riding, we will stay close to the coast, with the possibility of visiting the remote village of Tirli, home to just 284 residents. You have the option of a shorter or a longer ride today as well. Our goal is to conclude the day on the beach, ideally at Cala Violina—one of Italy’s most beautiful beaches—famed for its unique, squeaky sand that resembles the sound of violins underfoot.

This was the best vacation we have ever had. Riding with Myriam, our guide, was a big, big part of the success. A great guide and very skilled coach/teacher. She chose great rides, adapted them to our skill level and stamina. For us, the private trip was the way to go. Seeing Tuscany on an e-bike was a special experience. We are better riders for the experience!
