Trip Details
Embark on the ultimate Norway mountain biking adventure, with an exciting day in Sweden. Journey far above the Arctic Circle to explore the breathtaking Lofoten archipelago, where majestic mountains, deep fjords, and a rich history of cod fishing await. Picture yourself pedalling—and often hiking—your bike up mountains with panoramic views, followed by exhilarating descents on pristine singletrack that leads right to the seashore. Experience the world’s longest slickrock ride, a 26-kilometer stretch of pure adrenaline, and spend a day exploring the rugged beauty of Swedish Lapland. This adventure is designed for fit riders who are confident navigating natural, technical terrain. The trails here are remote, wild, and have seen few mountain bikers, offering a truly unique experience. We’ll stay in charming, off-the-beaten-path fishing communities, savoring excellent cuisine and resting in beautifully renovated ‘rorbuers’—traditional fisherman’s cabins. There’s also an opportunity to dive into history with a visit to the fascinating Lofotr Viking Museum and archaeological site. This trip is more than just a ride; it’s an immersion into the untamed beauty and rich culture of the Arctic North.

Pricing & Booking Details
Private group pricing follows the posted rates for your chosen itinerary, provided your group meets the minimum number of riders required for that destination.
Your group can choose any available scheduled departure that doesn’t already have riders booked, or — subject to availability of guides, accommodations, and logistics — we can work with you to select custom dates that best suit your group’s schedule. Once dates are confirmed, we require a 25% deposit per person to secure your private departure.
Please note that prices may be subject to change if booking more than a year in advance, or if any factors affect trip costs (such as group size adjustments, accommodation upgrades, or adding extra nights before or after your main itinerary).
Want to customize the itinerary for your group? No problem. Any updates, additions, or changes to existing itineraries are subject to a $1000 USD one-time booking fee.
Our team will maintain close communication with you throughout the process to ensure full transparency — no surprises. Once your trip details and pricing are confirmed, we’ll take care of everything so you can focus on what matters most — an incredible riding experience with your favourite people.

Bike and Gear
It is recommended that riders bring their own bikes. A current full-suspension enduro bike with 150-160mm travel designed to climb comfortably and capable of descending through rough terrain is suggested on this trip. Tires should be tubeless, 2.30” or above, with aggressive tread designed for rocky terrain, one to two-ply casing for durability, puncture resistance and added control.
Short stem and riser bars are recommended. Please ensure your bike is in top working condition and freshly tuned. Never arrive with new parts or a bike that hasn’t been ridden. Eye protection and knee pads that you can comfortably pedal in are highly recommended. Helmets are mandatory when on your bike. A 20L backpack is recommended.
Rental Info
This is an extreme adventure that requires very advanced technical ability, with trails located in very remote areas. This tour is best booked as a private trip, where all riders are of similar ability and fitness levels.
4 – 6 hours and 8 – 30 kms.
Most of the rides are accessed by hike-a-bike, either out and back or a technical climb to a descent. Hike-a-bike sections can be upwards of 45 mins, so ensure that your riding shoes are comfortable for walking. All trails are hiking paths and feature some steep sections and fixed rock, considerable granite slab riding and some compact dirt that can be slick when wet. Landscapes are most often wide-open, with some trails in the forest.
No, your gear is transported to your accommodation.
We encourage you to ride well within your limits, to ride conservatively, and to walk any sections where you feel uncomfortable.
We love the accommodation in Norway and think that you will too. From a very relaxing guesthouse to spectacular seaside rorbuers – renovated fishing cabins typically ½ on land and ½ over the water on stilts – we’re confident that you’ll be comfortable on this trip.
All breakfasts, lunches and 5 dinners.
Norwegian cuisine in its traditional form is based largely on the raw materials readily available from the mountains, wilderness and the sea. On this trip, meals are generally influenced by the sea with more than ample fish (breakfast & dinner). You’ll also enjoy lamb, pork, cheeses, eggs and great breads.
There is a laundry machine that we can use for the first three nights (no cost), otherwise laundry can be done for a cost at the other properties (albeit expensive). We recommend that riders bring hand-wash soap to do some light washing if needed during the trip and generally bring enough changes of clothing for multiple days. Otherwise, pack merino wool layers that can be worn for several days without washing.
July, August through mid-September are the best months to visit the Lofoten archipelago. Expect warm days but also cooler summer weather with rain showers probable. Riders must be prepared for all types of weather.
Norway uses the Norwegian Krone. Although debit or credit cards are accepted most places, it is still a good idea to have a bit of cash on you which you can purchase at a foreign exchange office at home, or go to an ATM at the airport upon arrival. Foreign currency is rarely accepted, so you will need Norwegian currency.
Tipping is not expected in Norway however it’s usual for Norwegians to leave a 10-20% tip at restaurants, however, they would not tip a taxi driver or hotel cleaner. Gratuities for your Big Mountain guides may be given at your discretion in response to their professionalism and leadership throughout the week. We suggest 5-10% of the trip price per individual to be divided among the guides as a standard.
