Trip Details

This trip is a must-do for passionate riders seeking the ultimate European mountain adventure. Imagine dropping into a descent high in the Alps after sipping a quick cappuccino at a mountain hut. Picture yourself gazing at Mont Blanc from above Verbier, spending the night in a historic alpine hotel and riding beneath the shadow of the Matterhorn in Zermatt. With pedal power, we traverse mountain passes, heading deep into the Swiss Alps, where ancient hiking trails double as world-class singletrack. Expect technical terrain with rocky sections, root-laced descents, and some exposure. Some sections will test your skills, while others will have you flowing effortlessly through alpine meadows and forested valleys. Be prepared for hike-a-bike stretches—comfortable riding shoes are essential. We maximize our time on the best descents by using a mix of lifts, trains, and shuttles, ensuring long, sustained downhills. The altitude ranges from 2,000m to 3,000m, so expect breathtaking views and lung-burning climbs. This trip is all about epic trails, stunning landscapes, and an unforgettable Swiss riding experience.

Trip Itinerary

This trip is a must-do for passionate riders seeking the ultimate European mountain adventure.

Day 1

Arrive in Geneva. Transfer to near Verbier.

Upon arrival, take the train from the Geneva Airport to the small town of Le Chable, where we pick you up.

Day 2

Ride Verbier.

Today's ride features over 10,000 feet of descent, accessed via lifts in Verbier. While the focus is on downhill terrain, expect several hours of pedaling and climbing throughout the day. Before tackling the final 5,000-foot descent back to the hotel, we’ll take a well-earned break at a stunning stone hut, where we’ll enjoy a cappuccino while taking in panoramic views of the Mont Blanc Massif.

Day 3

Ride Col De Mille.

Start the day with a spectacular ride, leading to a well-earned lunch at 2,473m. After taking in the breathtaking alpine views, enjoy a thrilling 4,500-foot descent back to the hotel.

Day 4

After a 40-minute transfer through the Rhône Valley, we’ll ascend into the stunning Val d’Anniviers. From there, we’ll continue to the town of St. Luc, where a monorail ride will take us high into the alpine. Our first descent is a breathtaking traverse leading to Zinal, showcasing incredible views and dynamic terrain. We then return to the high alpine for another unforgettable ride before settling in for the night at our historic hotel, perched at 2,337m and dating back to 1882. Pack your daypack with overnight gear.

Day 5

Transfer to Val D’Anniviers. Ride to Zinal.

Wake up to breathtaking views of the valley below. This morning, we’ll head to Chandolin and embark on an incredible route featuring nearly 10,470 feet of descent before we regroup for a transfer to Zermatt.

Day 6

Ride Zermatt.

Up early this morning, we'll ride one of the many lifts that will take us to the high-alpine with views of Monte Rosa, Switzerland’s highest peak, and of course the Matterhorn. Today we’ll aim to pull off three big descents – potentially the best day of riding ever.

Day 7

Ride Zermatt.

Stepping off the lift, you’ll cruise down flowy and technical descents lasting over an hour, all while taking in breathtaking alpine vistas. Zermatt is encircled by 29 towering peaks, each exceeding 4,000 meters, creating an unparalleled backdrop for an unforgettable riding experience.

Day 8

Train transfer to Geneva airport. Au devoir!

Board the train in Zermatt for a 3 hour 45 minute journey back to the Geneva airport.

We did a private version of the Cloudraker trip starting in Zermatt and finishing in Chamonix. Our group was a mix of acoustic bikes and ebike and it ended up working out quite well. Our group of 12 experienced riders agreed that one or more of the days were our single best and largest days ever on a bike. Spectacular scenery and fantastic memories. The route and experience surpassed expectations.
